Rossum Electro-Music / Evolution Filter

This is an innovative analog VCF module that significantly expands the filters of the E-MU SYSTEM-2100.

Rossum Electro-Music Evolution is an innovative filter module that significantly expands the Moog-type ladder filter that was installed in the E-MU System 2100. It is equipped with delicate controls that were not available in the original 2100 filter or other Moog-type ladder filters, and can produce musical and versatile sounds.

Frequency
In addition to the manual Frequency knob, the cutoff is equipped with three CV inputs. The 1V/OCT input can track over 10 octaves, and Evolution can be used as a high-quality sine wave oscillator when self-oscillating. In addition, CV2 with an attenuverter and CV3 with an attenuator are also available, allowing you to control the cutoff frequency with three CV signals. The cutoff frequency range is 22Hz to 22kHz without CV, and 0.2Hz to 40kHz with CV, allowing you to change the cutoff frequency over a wide range.

Q Level Compensation
In addition to the Q knob, which is a resonance control, Evolution is equipped with Q Level Compensation. With Q Level Compensation, you can use the knob to control the balance between the volume around the cutoff frequency when the Q is raised and the volume of the original sound below that frequency. This control, which is not available in conventional ladder filters, will allow you to get closer to your ideal sound. CV inputs include normal CV1 and CV2 with attenuverter.

Genus
The Genus control allows you to continuously change the filter characteristics in real time using a CV signal or a knob. The variable range is 3 poles to 6 poles (18dB/oct to 36dB/oct), and can be visually confirmed by the LED. CV inputs include normal CV1 and CV2 with attenuverter.

Species
The Species control controls the input level of the audio signal to the ladder filter, controlling the characteristic distortion sound of the ladder filter. Modulates the output level during self-oscillation. CV inputs include normal CV1 and CV2 with attenuverter.
