The Animals Pedal Firewood Acoustic D.I. MKII is an active DI pedal for electric acoustic guitars that is effective for live stages and recording. It is made with analog, discrete circuits and outputs to a mixer or amplifier without losing delicate expression.

Although it is a simple and compact pedal, it is equipped with various functions.
The powerful 3-band active equalizer allows you to adjust the tone to suit the characteristics of the song, venue, guitar and power amplifier, creating a variety of acoustic sounds, from a warm and balanced tone like a classic nylon string to a crisp and glittering tone that brings out the vocals in an ensemble.

The three equalizers, HIGH, MID, and LOW, powerfully adjust the tone in a range of ±15dB, centered on 3.5kHz, 800Hz, and 180Hz, respectively. In addition to sound creation, it is also effective as a control to cut unnecessary bands and suppress feedback.
The GAIN control, which can add light saturation when Boost is ON, adds crisp power and presence to the sound.

The MUTE foot switch mutes the output at any time. In addition to emergency response to feedback that is unavoidable depending on the situation with an acoustic guitar, you can mute the acoustic guitar system itself when changing guitars or while playing an electric guitar.
It can also be used in tricky ways, such as chopping up the sound as an effect.

The BOOST switch allows you to switch the volume. You can switch the volume of the lead part and the backing part, or switch the volume at your feet according to the development of the song.

It has an effect loop, so you can apply effects such as chorus and delay at the same time when using an acoustic guitar or as a boost pedal.

It also has a balanced output with an XLR terminal that allows you to output the guitar directly to a mixer. It can also be driven by phantom power. Even in venues where there are not enough outlets, such as outdoor stages, it can be powered from a mixer.

The Firewood Acoustic D.I. MKII is not just a pedal with excellent functionality. The high headroom and the sound of the particular circuit clearly output the tone of the guitar itself.

You can deliberately create a crisp and hard ""electric acoustic sound"", but you can also clearly output the warmer and deeper tone unique to acoustic guitars down to the finest details. Even on a live stage, it creates a tone that is close to a studio microphone recording.

●Controls
LEVEL: Adjusts the overall volume.
LOW: Adjusts the low range in the range of ±15dB, centered around 180Hz.
MID: Adjusts the mid range in the range of ±15dB, centered around 800Hz.
HIGH: Adjusts the high range in the range of ±15dB, centered around 3.5kHz.
GAIN: Adjusts the output level when Boost is ON and controls the overall saturation of the tone. It can also be used to slightly distort.
INVERT: Inverts the phase.
MUTE foot switch: Mutes the output.
BOOST foot switch: Increases the volume. The boost level is constant and is adjusted with the GAIN knob.

DC9VIN: Connects a standard center negative DC9V adapter.
IN: Input. Connects the cable from the instrument side.
SEND/RETURN: Effect loop. Connect the cable from SEND to the input of the effect in the loop, and connect the cable from the output of the effect in the loop to RETURN. The effects loop is always active.
OUT: Unbalanced out. Connect a cable to a guitar amp, etc. here.
BAL/48V: Balanced out with XLR terminal. Use when connecting to a mixer, etc. Also, phantom power is supplied from here when using it.
