The original pickguard, which is characteristic of D'Angelico, is designed to resemble part of an f-hole and is available in 5-ply tortoise shell pattern (black, natural swamp ash) or white pearl pattern (hunter green). The headstock and neck (4-ply) are decorated with binding, and the design combined with the striking split block position markers in mother-of-pearl/avalon gives a chic and gorgeous impression. The body is made of lightweight basswood (hunter green, black) or swamp ash ( The guitar is made of wood materials such as natural swamp ash, maple and walnut three-piece neck, and pau ferro fingerboard. The 24.75-inch scale length and three-piece neck structure with walnut sandwiched between maple, resists warping and twisting. The neck joint is a unique heelless design, and the neck reaches the back of the body (where the entire front pickup is covered) like a through-neck, providing a wide bonding area, making it a ""set-through"" neck joint that combines playability at high frets with strength. In addition, it is equipped with a dual action truss rod that is adjusted on the headstock side. The distinctive headstock design inherits the tradition of D'Angelico. The truss rod cover is made of aluminum, and its striking design is inspired by the skyscrapers of New York, where Art Deco architecture (such as the Empire State Building) was popular around 1930. The neck pickup is a stacked USA Seymour Duncan DA-59 single coil STK, and the bridge pickup is an open type USA Seymour Duncan DA-59 humbucker. The controls are a 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way pickup selector layout, and each pickup tone also doubles as a coil split push-pull switch, giving a total of 9 coil combinations. The hardware is all gold, and it features Grover's Super Rotomatic locking machine heads and Tune-O-Matic & Stop Bar tailpiece for stable tuning.
