iFI Audio / ZEN Air CAN

The ZEN Air CAN is a headphone amplifier that can connect to any audio source with an analog output, such as the headphone output of a laptop, tablet or smartphone, the RCA output of a CD player, or a phono stage.

■A very affordable yet very well designed design, with the use of discrete high-end components and an independent symmetrical layout between channels.

■1200mW at 32Ω load, the power to drive any headphones with ease and ultra-low distortion. It expresses the texture and detail of music richly.

■The quad amplifier circuit is equipped with a custom OVA series FET op-amp with a ""folded cascode"" design. It has a special feedback circuit to optimize performance.

■The input stage uses automatic gain matching between inputs. Volume adjustment is performed by a TOCOS precision potentiometer, and the discrete, complementary bipolar output stage is equipped with the same class A buffer found in more expensive headphone amplifiers.

■The power supply circuit uses linear regulation, noise filtering, physical isolation from sensitive audio circuits, and ""stealth mode"" voltage conversion with a capacitance of over 4,000uF. It ensures enough power to handle musical transients.

■Thermoplastic polymer exterior case features alloy shielding to protect the delicate signal path from interference.

■FET-based switching is handled by a microcontroller and only activated when the user changes settings, eliminating interference that can adversely affect the sound.

■Equipped with XBass+, a sophisticated bass boost function, and XSpace, which corrects the ""in-head positioning"" effect to widen the sound field. The gain can be adjusted to three levels: 0dB, 9dB, and 18dB to adjust the gain to suit the headphones you connect.

■The S-Balanced circuit design cuts noise and crosstalk in single-ended headphone connections by 50%. It has one additional single-ended RCA socket, two stereo RCA inputs, and one 3.5mm S-balanced socket.

※The ZEN Air CAN does not come with an AC adapter, so you will need to purchase one separately. In addition to a 5V AC adapter like the iFi iPower II 5V, a USB-DC cable is included, so you can use a home USB charger (5V/2A or higher, e.g. Apple A1401).
