iFI Audio / ZEN Air CAN

The ZEN Air CAN is a headphone amplifier that can be connected to any audio source with analog output, such as the headphone output of laptops, tablets and smartphones, the RCA output of CD players, the phono stage, etc.

■The use of discrete high-end components and the independent symmetrical layout between channels make for a very affordable price range.

■We realize power and ultra-low distortion to drive all headphones of 1,200mW at 32Ω load. Richly express the texture and detail of music.

■ The quad amplifier circuit is equipped with a custom OVA series FET operational amplifier that employs a "folded cascode" design. It has a special feedback circuit for optimized performance.

■ The input stage adopts an automatic gain matching function between inputs. Volume is controlled by TOCOS precision potentiometers, and the discrete, complementary bipolar output stage features a Class A buffer similar to those found in more expensive headphone amplifiers.

■The power circuit uses linear regulation, noise filtering, physical isolation from sensitive audio circuits, and "stealth mode" voltage conversion with a capacitance of 4,000uF or more. Make sure you have enough power to handle the transients in your music.

■We adopt shield made of alloy in exterior case of thermoplastic polymer and protect delicate signal course from interference.

■FET-based switching is handled by a microcontroller and only activates when the user changes settings, eliminating interference that adversely affects sound.

■Equipped with XBass+, which is a sophisticated bass enhancement function, and XSpace, which corrects the "head localization" effect and widens the sound field. The gain can be adjusted in 3 steps of 0dB, 9dB, and 18dB so that the gain can be adjusted according to the connected headphones.

■S-Balanced circuit design is adopted, cuts noise and crosstalk in single-ended headphone connection by 50%. One single-ended RCA socket has been added, featuring two stereo RCA inputs and one 3.5mm S-balanced socket.

*The ZEN Air CAN does not come with an AC adapter, so you will need to prepare one separately. In addition to a 5V AC adapter such as the iFi iPower II 5V, a USB-DC cable is included so you can use your home USB charger (5V/2A or higher, e.g. Apple A1401).
