Walrus Audio / Canvas Stereo Dual Line Isolator/D.I. [WAL-CANV/S]

A passive direct box (DI)/line isolator with a white canvas motif that projects the sound you imagine.

Canvas Stereo is a passive line isolator (LI) and direct injection (DI) device that converts unbalanced signals to balanced signals and transmits them to a recording interface or mixer at FOH. If you use an ""amp in a box"" like ACS1 to output an acoustic guitar or bass guitar directly to a mixer or interface, Canvas Stereo will be your new weapon.

Direct Injection Mode
Use DI mode when connecting a high impedance source (1,000Ω or more, such as an electric guitar or bass) with an unbalanced signal. The signal is reduced by -20dB (-35dB when using PAD) and converted to a balanced signal via a transformer connected to the XLR output. The signal is raised to line level by the gain of the mixer or preamp.

Line Isolator Mode
Use LI mode when connecting a low impedance (1,000Ω or less) source (such as an amp + cabinet simulator like ACS1, synthesizer, etc.) with an unbalanced signal. The signal remains at full volume and is converted to a balanced signal through a transformer connected to the XLR output. Less preamp gain is required.

FEATURE
- Flat frequency response (20Hz-20kHz).
- SUM switch: When off (not pressed), the L and R inputs are connected to the thru channel, and when on, the thru jacks are combined and one of the thru jacks can be used for output.
- PAD switch: Activates the -15dB input pad (D.I. mode only) that reduces the hot signal to minimize distortion.
- D.I./L.I switch: Selects between DI (direct injection) mode and LI (line isolator) mode.
- GND Lift: Isolates the GND pin of the XLR to eliminate hum noise if it occurs.
