Ernie Ball has been working with Metallica's James Hetfield on developing original strings for the past 10 years.

The plain strings are made of Paradigm Core Wire with brass RPS reinforcement on the ball ends, while the wound strings are made of Paradigm Core Wire and Plasma Enhanced Nickel Plated Steel Wrap Wire. The gauges are 11-50. This gives the guitar a heavier sound and more pitch stability, matching his aggressive style and technique.
