Introducing the next generation of the polyphonic digital synthesizer ""volca fm,"" a perfect reproduction of the legendary FM sound source. With twice the polyphony, a wide range of effects, improved MIDI connectivity, and an intuitive interface, it offers unprecedented playability.

■Main new features
- The number of simultaneous voices has been increased from 3 on the original volca fm to 6, and the number of tone programs that can be saved has been increased from 32 to 64.
- In addition to the adjustable ""Chorus"" effect, a new ""Reverb"" with adjustable levels has also been installed.
- Newly equipped with 3.5mm mini MIDI in/out, it is now possible to play other synths with the built-in sequencer.
- Added a Program Random function that randomizes the sound creation of complex FM synths and allows them to be used like chance operations.

In response to your requests, we have equipped the unit with a reverb effect along with a chorus effect. You can now adjust each effect individually to create the FM sound you want.

・External sequencing and connection
In addition to the MIDI IN terminal, it also has a MIDI OUT terminal (IN/OUT 3.5 mm TRS), so you can play other MIDI-compatible synths with the volca sequencer. As a sequencer, the new volca fm will advance your machine live.

・Powerful sequencer and functions
Equipped with a loop sequencer of up to 16 steps that can record performances on the touch panel keyboard as they are. Up to 16 sequence patterns created can be saved in the unit.
In addition, the motion sequence function records subtle nuances of play and knob movements in real time, allowing you to give the sound a time-based change. In addition to creating loops, you can demonstrate original play during live performances.

・Random programs and performance-oriented functions
A new program randomizer is installed to sharpen the sound. Inspiration spreads through accidents and melodies patching.
Of course, conventional functions are also installed. The warp active step, pattern chain, and arpeggiator functions make it easy to create addictive loops of rhythms and patterns.
In addition to the active step function that allows you to skip steps in the middle of a sequence and play them, a new function that enables irregular rhythms is installed. When the active steps are less than 16 steps, the warp active step function corrects the playing time to the same as 16 steps and plays them. By synchronizing the playback with other volcas, you can play unconventional plays with the timing of the steps deliberately shifted.
In addition, the pattern chain function that plays multiple sequence patterns consecutively allows you to connect up to 16 sequences of 32, 64, or even 256 steps to build grand developments.

・Fully compatible with classic Sys-Ex

Perfectly reproduces the sound engine of Yamaha DX7, a representative digital synthesizer that made FM synthesis known to the world. With full compatibility with 6 operators and 32 algorithms, it is also possible to import and use SYS-EX/SYX files, which are the tone format of Yamaha DX7.

・Easy FM sound editing

An interface that allows anyone to easily create FM synthesis sounds. The ""MODULATOR"" and ""CARRIER"" knobs, which have multiple parameters pre-assigned, allow you to instantly edit the characteristic sounds of FM synthesis. In addition, if you are a deep user of FM synthesis, you can individually edit all parameters from the menu section. A parameter list card is also included as a guide.

As before, the new model is compact and easy to carry. Intuitive knobs that allow for instant editing. Weighing just 360g including the built-in speaker (excluding 6 3-type batteries), it is ideal for standalone use.
