The CC8 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone handmade in Vienna, Austria. Equipped with the OCC7 capsule inspired by the legendary CK1 capsule, it combines tradition and the latest technology, including high SPL compatibility, transformerless circuitry, and two-stage high-pass filter/pad.

The sound is natural and open, with silky smoothness from the mids to the highs. The OCC7 capsule and transformerless circuitry provide extremely linear frequency response and can record up to 156 dB of extremely high SPL without distortion. This makes it an ideal microphone for recording classical sources such as strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, as well as acoustic guitars, pianos, snares, hi-hats, and drum sets. In addition, all individual sensitivity differences are calibrated to within ±0.5 dB at 1 kHz, so any two units can be used as a stereo pair.

The OCC7 condenser capsule is used in Austrian Audio's small diaphragm microphone products and is developed in Vienna, Austria. Inspired by the legendary CK1 capsule, the OCC7 capsule inherits tradition while meeting modern needs. The capsule's 3-micron-thin gold-plated polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) diaphragm is much more robust than conventional Mylar diaphragms. Furthermore, the frequency response is extremely linear and can withstand high sound pressure levels. Combined with extremely low self-noise, it achieves an excellent dynamic range. The sound is always natural and open, with no roughness even with high SPL sources, and the mid to high ranges are silky smooth.

The capsules are hand-built in Austria by experts with traditional skills, and the individual sensitivity differences between the capsules are calibrated to within 0.5dB, so any combination of two capsules can be used as a stereo pair.
