The DK2 combines traditional Jackson design with high playability. It features a graphite-reinforced maple neck and an ebony fingerboard. The body is made of ash and is equipped with Seymour Duncan 59 SH-1N and JB TB-4 humbucking pickups. The heel cut improves playability in the higher positions. The string-through-body hardtail bridge provides stable tuning.
