Fulltone Custom-Shop PlimSoul mk2 is an improved version of the original PlimSoul circuit, featuring Fulltone's patented dual-stage clipping circuit. This allows for even more sound shaping. Overdrive circuits that use op-amp ICs mainly include soft clipping, which uses a clipping circuit in the op-amp's feedback circuit to obtain natural distortion, and hard clipping, which uses a clipping circuit after the op-amp's amplification to obtain hard, aggressive distortion. The PlimSoul mk2 is equipped with these two clipping circuits, achieving a complex drive sound that combines both soft clipping and hard clipping. If you feel that overdrive alone is not enough, you can add the distortion of hard clipping, or conversely, you can add a warm, fat overdrive feel to the distortion. The mk2 also has a higher input impedance than the original model, so it's tuned up to respond sensitively to the guitar's volume and pickup output. It also has a three-position BASS control, so you can adjust the amount of low-frequency sound to match your amplifier.
