Based on the RMX16, which has been used on many recordings since the 1980s. A classic reverberator in the 500 series format.
■Following the legacy of legendary reverbs The AMS RMX16 was the world's first microprocessor-controlled, full-bandwidth digital reverberator, used on many recordings from the 1980s onwards. It has since become an essential part of any studio. Rather than simply implementing a mathematical algorithm from the start, each program has been retuned to provide the widest possible "sweet spot" settings, with a "carpet graph" parameter table to ensure musicality. It was designed by ear, based on first principles over a long period of time, and boasts a unique sound not found in modern designs. In addition to the nine standard programs, nine aftermarket programs are available. These nine programs are included in the AMS RMX 16 500 Series Digital Reverb Module. ■Features - High performance 32-bit DSP processing and 24-bit, 48KHz sampling, premium A/D and D/A converters - Over 100dB dynamic range and +22dBu headroom - Adjustable input and output levels for optimal S/N performance - Low power consumption - Independent control of basic reverb parameters for each program - Nudge buttons to increment or decrement data for selectable reverb functions - Alphanumeric program descriptions for easy use when storing and recalling information from the unit's memory - New rotary push encoder for adjusting all parameters and settings by ear - New wet/dry mix blend function - New save/recall function with 100 user-defined memory slots - Compatible with 500 Series racks/enclosures
