The APOLLO X series is the third generation of APOLLO racks, which use elite class converters and are equipped with HEXA(6) core DSP processing.

The Apollo x8p is a Mac/Windows Thunderbolt 3 audio interface that provides engineers, producers, and project studios with the best possible A/D and D/A conversion, UAD processing via HEXA core, dual crystal clocking, and 7.1 surround monitoring for recording, overdubbing, and mixing.

This 16-in/22-out interface, created with UA's craftsmanship that boasts a history of over 60 years, provides powerful real-time UAD processing with HEXA core DSP (50% increase in DSP power from previous generation Apollo), as well as superb preamp emulation of Neve, API, Manley, Helios, SSL, etc. with 8 Unison mic preamps.

Apple MacBook computers have USB-C ports, but they do not support Thunderbolt 3, so they are not compatible with Universal Audio products.
