Crazy Tube Circuits / Falcon

In 2016, I built a custom amp to morph the sound of a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe and a 6G2 Brownface Princeton, and loved the sound and feel of those amps so much that I decided to represent them in pedal format. Falcon was designed to painstakingly emulate the circuits found in those amps.

We copied the behavior, sound and feel of the preamp, phase inverter and power amp of these two amps in detail. By applying JFET technology, we were able to reproduce not only overdrive sounds but also low gain/clean sounds. The most important part was to emulate the compression and sag from the power amp and vacuum tube rectifier, respectively. This effect enhances the dynamic and musical feel of the pedal and makes it very responsive to picking attack. Depending on the amp mode setting and the output of the guitar/pickup, this effect can be more pronounced or less pronounced.

Using a power supply higher than DC10V may seriously damage the pedal and void the warranty.
