A deluxe version of the PRE-73 Mk3 that reproduces the texture of vintage NEVE.

The PRE-73DLX mk2 is a 1-channel vintage-style mic/line/instrument preamp. It is a high-quality version that further develops the excellent sound of the PRE-73mk3. It is equipped with additional professional functions such as a variable high-pass filter and output PAD. In addition, the original NEVE gain structure is reproduced by independent transformers for the mic input and line input (the PRE-73mk3 has a shared mic/line transformer).

Compared to the previous model PRE-73DLX, the circuit design has been upgraded by reducing the number of internal connectors, improving the power supply, and adopting a 48V phantom power design. In addition, the ""AIR band EQ"" has been added, so it is now possible to add a beautiful airy feeling to the high frequencies.

The variable output PAD not only allows you to output the sound with the input transformer's harmonics at the appropriate level, but also allows you to make sounds using AirEQ and high-pass filters, and by connecting an optional EQ unit (EQ-73, etc.) to the insert terminal on the rear panel, you can reproduce the same mic pre + EQ combination as the NEVE 1073.

The signal path uses only discrete components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors. Three different transformers are used for the line and mic inputs and line outputs, each optimized for their own purpose. The tone of the preamp section of the classic vintage NEVE 1073 module is warm and punchy, and has the magic of adding musical resonance, and it was the mission of the Golden Age Project to provide that magical tone at a low price.

The PRE-73DLX mk2 is the best tool to reproduce the universal analog sound of classic NEVE at a high level even in a home studio or a small studio.

■ Vintage style circuit design. All-discrete circuit configuration
■ Equipped with a NEVE1073-style high-pass (low-cut) filter (selectable at 50Hz, 80Hz, 160Hz, 300Hz), 18dB/octave roll-off

Since this function is set after the output transformer, it is possible to push the gain of the previous stage to the output transformer and strongly bring out the harmonics unique to the transformer. It is possible to output at an appropriate level while producing distortion.
