■ AD/DA converter
ADI-2 FS is a 2-channel high-end AD/DA converter with a precise and compact design. It provides high-performance AD/DA conversion function up to 192kHz for SPDIF, AES, and ADAT. The analog inputs are based on the highly regarded ADI-2 Pro advanced circuit design, which provides excellent low noise, distortion and frequency response. In addition, the latest RME clock technology "Steady Clock FS" installed suppresses the jitter value with the accuracy of femtosecond unit, and guarantees excellent sound quality regardless of the quality of the reference clock. ADI-2 FS also inherits the conversion technology of ADI-2 Pro. The adopted AK557x and AK4490 offer 192 kHz sampling frequency, low distortion and 120 dBA dynamic range.

When the input selection is set to DIG (digital), the device acts as a digital format converter with monitoring capabilities. The AD converter is disabled and the DA converter is used for digital input signal monitoring, rear output and headphone output. It can convert between SPDIF coaxial (or AES) and all professional or consumer status, ADAT formats. The "Analog Bypass" function, which connects the analog output circuit directly to the analog input circuit, also allows the ADI-2 FS to be used as an analog preamplifier. It can also be used as a balanced <> unbalanced converter.
The ADI-2 FS has a powerful headphone output that exceeds the proven high power headphone output used in many RME interfaces. With 0.45W per channel, 0.1Ω output impedance, maximum output level +19dBu, and very low THD, the new generation high power circuit is ideal for many headphones including IEM (In-ear Monitor). To demonstrate. It can be switched on/off by a relay without a click sound.
Power is supplied via the included external switching power supply. It is also ideal for applications such as development and measurement that require galvanic insulation.
