EARTHQUAKER DEVICES / Data Corrupter is a pedal that adds modulation to a monophonic analog PLL harmonizer. It produces a wild sound that mixes extreme square wave fuzz with octaves, pitch bends, subharmonic sounds, etc.

◯Master Oscillator
・The signal input to the Master Oscillator section can be converted to Unison, one octave down (-1), or two octaves down (-2) using the Root knob, and one can be selected.
・If the Master Oscillator does not respond well, such as when the frequency of the instrument being used is high, try setting it one or two octaves down to match the tone of the instrument being used.
・You can also do the opposite and create a unique sound by taking advantage of the poor response.
・After setting the above, use the rotary knob to select one of the eight available harmonies.
(This harmony section can be modulated with the Frequency Modulator, which will be explained later.)
◯Frequency Modulator
・Adds pitch bend to the Master Oscillator, and allows you to select between two modes: Glide and Vibrato.
・Glide mode: Smooth transitions between notes played.
・Vibrato mode: Pitch modulation is applied, creating a sound similar to the laser beams in old sci-fi movies.
◯Subharmonic
・Creates a sub-octave with the input signal set as the Root. In addition, the sub-octave created by the Root is converted into 8 selectable harmonies using the rotary switch provided.
・This Root can be selected to take its signal from either Unison or the Master Oscillator.
・Unison: The signal from the Subharmonic section becomes part of Square (the fuzz signal section) and bypasses the Frequency Modulator.
・Oscillator: The signal created in the Master Oscillator section passes through the Frequency Modulator before entering the Subharmonic section, and the Frequency Modulator is also effective for the Subharmonic.
◯Voice Mixer and Level
・Oscillator: Adjusts the volume of the Master Oscillator (including the Frequency Modulator)
・Subharmonic: Adjusts the volume of the Subharmonic section, and Square adjusts the volume of the fuzz
・Level: Master volume. Adjusts the final output of the entire Data Corrupter
