RADIAL / KL-8

The Radial KL-8 is a rackmount keyboard mixer that can connect up to four keyboards in mono or stereo. Level controls and stereo AUX send/returns allow for smooth integration with external effects, and two USB ports allow mixing with software synths. It's a professional-grade mixing station with independent XLR monitor and headphone outputs.

■Mix Control
The Radial KL-8 is a powerful mixing station designed for professional keyboardists. Connect up to four keyboards in mono or stereo, each with its own level, AUX send, and LED indicators. The stereo AUX send/receive can be used to feed rack-mounted reverbs, delays, and more. It can also be used as an input for a fifth keyboard.

MIDI and USB connections allow you to control laptop soft synths using high-quality 24-bit/192kHz audio conversion. The KL-8 offers multiple output options, including a transformer-isolated XLR main output for PA use, a monitor output for an onstage speaker setup, and a headphone output for local monitoring and testing.

■Redundant USB Input
If you want to avoid interruptions due to laptop malfunctions, the KL-8's two USB connections are a valuable asset. Connect two laptops to USB ports A and B, and seamlessly switch to the other USB connection if the playback machine experiences problems. Switching between USB channels is done via the USB SELECT switch on the KL-8's front panel or the optional JR1-L footswitch.

■Silent Cueing / CUE Switch
Two headphone outputs from the built-in headphone amplifier allow you to quietly monitor the entire mix or select a specific input without routing it to the main output. Pressing the CUE switch routes the selected input to the headphones and mutes the corresponding channel's output, preventing signal from being sent to the main, monitor, or auxiliary outputs. This allows you to easily adjust patch settings and test playback via USB without interrupting your performance.
