Hummingbird has been one of EARTHQUAKER DEVICES' most popular effects since its introduction in 2007. In 2009, a JFET was added to give it more headroom, and the circuit was updated to allow flexible tremolo control with Depth and Level. In 2015, the circuit was updated to a new one. A further improvement is the addition of a third speed change mode. It can now be set between 1 and 2, which were in the original.

This improvement makes it easy to produce a tremolo that is so slow you can't stand it, a tremolo that is so fast it's like ring modulation, and everything in between. You can also quickly adjust the tremolo speed from an external source with an expression pedal. By using the expression pedal like a wah, you can control a variety of tremolo changes in real time that were not possible with the original. And by lowering the Depths to zero, you can use it as a clean boost for FETs!

Depth: Sets the tremolo depth
With Depths lowered to zero, you can adjust the Level to use it as a clean boost for FETs.

Mode: 3 types of speed settings
Mode1 slow, Mode2 medium, Mode3 fast

Rate: Sets the tremolo speed

Level: Sets the output level

Expression Jack: You can use an external expression pedal to control the Rate in real time. Please choose one that uses a TRS stereo plug. Moog EP-3 is recommended. When using the EP-3, please adjust the output to maximum. Use with expression pedals other than the above models is not guaranteed.
