This compact audio interface incorporates RME's highly reliable and proven technology into the audio network technology ""Dante."" It also supports MADI, and together with Dante, it achieves 256 channels of input and output. The remote control software TotalMix Remote allows for flexible routing even in large-scale systems. The Digiface Dante is RME's first audio interface to support the Dante networking standard, which is increasingly being adopted in PA, installation, studio, and conference systems. RME's driver technology, renowned in the audio interface market, maintains low latency and stability while intuitively handling up to 256 channels of audio data. The built-in headphone output can be used for headphone monitoring or as a stereo line output.

The Ethernet ports that connect to the Dante network are equipped with two primary and two secondary ports, for a total of four ports, providing redundancy and allowing use as a four-port switching hub. It also supports standalone mode, functioning as a simple ""Dante<>MADI converter"" and ""Dante & MADI patchbay."" Pre-configured settings also allow for headphone monitoring of any mix.

RME's MADI transmission technology recognizes the clock within the MADI signal when connecting to MADI devices, eliminating the need for a separate word clock connection.
