The SRM-T8000 is a driver unit exclusively for STAX ear speakers, featuring a hybrid vacuum tube/semiconductor circuit.

■Hybrid circuit of vacuum tube/semiconductor
- The circuit is composed of a hybrid circuit with a first stage using a twin triode tube and a high-current emitter follower/A-class semiconductor output stage. A coupling capacitor-less circuit is realized from input to output. The housing is made of non-magnetic aluminum, cutting out magnetic noise that causes sound quality to become muddy. The main feature of this unit is the sound quality with extremely little noise, music that stands out supplely and vividly, and excellent spatial depiction.
■Low noise, high quality twin triode tube 6922
- The first stage vacuum tube uses the twin triode tube 6922, which has a reputation for its sound quality. In order to eliminate vibration and external noise, it is an independent base, and noise is thoroughly eliminated by the vibration damper and vacuum tube shield cover that are also used for hard disks. Low-level sound particles that are normally buried in noise are manifested as a signal. As a result, the transparency is improved as if all the sound has been purified.
■Large capacity toroidal transformer
- The first large toroidal transformer in the history of Stax driver units is used, achieving low noise and low leakage flux. It achieves agile and realistic sound image reproduction across the entire range.
■Input terminals
- LINE1 is equipped with a parallel output terminal that outputs the input signal as is. LINE3 is equipped with an XLR input that achieves the true sound quality of balanced transmission.
■EXTERNAL (BYPASS) mode
- When selecting LINE1, LINE2, or LINE3 on the selector, by selecting the EXTERNAL (BYPASS) position of the level control knob, you can bypass the volume stage built into the SRM-T8000 and adjust the volume using the volume of the source device or an external attenuator. This allows it to be used as a power amplifier dedicated to ear speakers.
■Optional circuit board slot
- LINE4 is equipped with a slot for an optional circuit board that can be expanded in the future.
■Large, high-grip aluminum insulator

-A newly developed large aluminum insulator combines a new material with excellent vibration resistance and load resistance, as well as a high coefficient of friction (high grip). It achieves such high stability that you don't need to hold down the main body, even when inserting the ear speaker plug.
