■A pickup that faithfully reproduces the original specifications of Gretsch's FilterTron in 1959
Thomas V. Jones, founder of TV Jones, had the opportunity to get his hands on a valuable original pickup and design documents from that time with the cooperation of Ray Butts' family, who developed the original FilterTron pickup, an original Gretsch pickup.
The FilterTron is one of the world's first hum-canceling pickups to be patented on June 30, 1959 (Patent No. 2,892,371).
More than 50 years after its birth in 1958, the Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Tron is a pickup that has been reproduced by Thomas V. Jones.
At that time, the FilterTron was developed as a pickup for Chet Atkins.
Ray Butts' goal was to achieve a truly high-quality tone, reduce external noise, and mitigate all the shortcomings of the pickups of the time.
The Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Tron is a reproduction of the earliest Filter'Tron pickups that realized this desire. Just like the original, the bobbin is not potted, the metal cover is easily removed, and the top is engraved with the words ""PAT. APPLIED FOR"".
Of course, the conductor is a vintage two-core specification.
There are two types for the bridge and neck, two types of metal covers, gold and chrome, and an aged finish that can be installed on vintage guitars without feeling out of place, and each color is available in a lineup.
