RADIAL / JDX-48

The RADIAL/JDX-48 is a direct box designed specifically for amplifiers. It sends the amplifier sound to the PA or recording system without being affected by mic bleed or noise.

JDX is a direct box for amps only. It sends amp sound to PA and recording systems without being affected by microphone fogging or noise. JDX is different from general DI boxes. General DI boxes send the signal before inputting it to the amp to a mixer or recorder. However, JDX connects between the amp and speaker and sends the output signal of the amp. JDX uses its own technology to send the amp sound as naturally as possible.

The signal from the amp first enters a unique reactive circuit. The reactive circuit follows the changing reaction of the amp and speaker, maintaining the dynamic response of the amp. Next, an active multi-stage filter reproduces the frequency characteristics of the speaker. Finally, the signal is sent to the PA and recording system via the JDX Class A buffer amplifier.

For bass and acoustic guitars, a standard DI provides the best sound to obtain a natural and clean sound. However, for electric guitars, the amplifier and speaker play an important role in the sound. For that reason, it is common to record the sound by placing a microphone in front of the guitar amplifier (speaker). However, recording with a microphone is affected by external factors such as vibration, wind, microphone position, and acoustics.

The JDX sends the player's amp sound directly to the mixer and recorder. This achieves stable sound without using a microphone. This stable sound is very effective in systems that use in-ear monitors. In-ear monitors are greatly affected by slight deviations in microphone position and wind noise, which worsen the monitoring environment. The JDX achieves stable monitor sound without the effects of fogging when using a microphone or wind noise.
