Variations

The ObsidianWire / Custom Blender allows you to blend the neck and bridge pickups, adding more variety to your Strat sound. Turn the Blender knob back on and you'll instantly return to the traditional Stratocaster 5-way switch sound.

・2x ObsidianWire Select 250k (±6%) CTS pots (matched to ±2%), split shaft
・1x ObsidianWire Blender 250k (±10%) CTS pot, split shaft
・1x Oak Grigsby 5-way switch
・1x Switchcraft J11 mono output jack
・1x ObsidianWire Select 0.047μF 150 series polyester film capacitor (hand-selected to be ±10%)
・1x ObsidianWire Custom Spec Treble Bleed Mod
・1 x Printed circuit board (components installed)

■5-way switch position when blender control is ON
1. Blend the bridge pickup with the neck pickup
2. Blend the middle and bridge mix with the neck pickup
3. Middle pickup
4. Blend the neck and middle mix with the bridge pickup
5. Blend the neck pickup with the bridge pickup

■5-way switch position when blender control is OFF (minimum)
1. Bridge pickup
2. Mix the middle and bridge
3. Middle pickup
4. Mix the neck and middle
5. Neck pickup

■Compatible models: USA, MEX Stratocaster
*Since it uses inch-sized pots, for Japanese models, you will need to prepare a control plate made by Fender USA.

まず、ドライバーとニッパーがあれば簡単に配線ができます。
操作系はブレンダーをつけることでマスターボリューム、マスタートーン、ブレンダー（10がブレンドなしで目盛り減るごとにブレンドされます）となり、個人的には元のストラトよりもわかりやすいです。
使ってみて気づいた点として、スイッチでのフロントリアのミックスより、任意でブレンド比率を変えることで音作りの幅が広がります。
また、私がインストールしたのは97年のメキシコ製ストラトのため元の配線が悪かったためか（コンデンサ容量も違っていた）、本製品をつけるだけで大変音が丸く太く良い音になりました。

Fit is difficult

It’s well made and looks quality, but the circuit board can be difficult to fit in you strat’s cavity. I’m still working on fitting mine. I check what I could check about measurements, but still I am working to make it fit in the cavity. The pot shafts and switch size was fine just that lower part with the capacitor between tone 2 and tone 3 is just far enough out to catch the cavity and keep me from fitting it in properly. Thus the pickguard holes don’t line up.
There wasn’t enough measurement information given to inform before you buy.
Additionally, the connection terminal is very small and wire gauge slightly bigger may not fit.
All in all, just solder individual pots yourself or get something like the Emerson prewired kit. It’ll work better without the circuit board to get in the way.
