Matthews Effects The Astronomer v2 is an updated version of Matthews Effects' signature reverb pedal. The V2 model now features three reverb algorithms, 100% wet setting, remote control of the Alt footswitch for switching between two channels, and bypass mode selection.

■Reverb Algorithms
・Canis Major: This algorithm, which means Canis the Greater, is a reverb that combines the EchoVerb design with Swell. The Glow control allows you to mix the shimmer, and the Travel control allows you to set an infinite drone. It is ideal as a pad or layer.
・Orion: Orion's Hunter is a hall reverb. It is a hall reverb with a strong shine, and if you lower the Glow, it becomes a standard hall reverb.
・Ursa Major: This reverb, which means Ursa Major, is a chamber reverb that allows you to set a pre-octave mix with the Glow control. When the Glow control is set to minimum, it becomes a dark reverb that is perfect for lead lines, and when you turn up the Glow, a particle sound is added and the sparkle becomes stronger.
■Analog Dry Signal Path
The dry signal input to The Astronomer v2 is never converted to digital. The effect signal is created with a digital signal, but is then mixed with the dry signal in analog.
■Controls
-Mass: Controls the mix of original sound and reverb from 0% to 100%.
-Glow: Controls the level of shimmer (octave up) added to the reverb signal.
-Travel: Controls the reverb feedback.
-Mini switch: Switches between three reverb algorithms. The left switch corresponds to the reverb of the upper control knob, and the right switch corresponds to the reverb of the lower control knob.
-Alt foot switch: Switches between the upper and lower reverb channels. The two reverb channels can be individually controlled and have their own reverb algorithms.
-Bypass foot switch: Switches the effect ON/OFF.
■Bypass mode
You can switch bypass mode by holding both footswitches simultaneously for 10 seconds. In Tail bypass, the final reverb will remain even if the effect is bypassed.
