What is Baby Ball Gag? Providing the same wind protection as a full-size windshield in a very small package, the Baby Ball Gag is designed to be inserted into the body of the microphone. It can be used with handheld or Lyre suspension shock mounts.
Perfect for shorter microphones, Baby Ball Gags are ideal for handheld operation and interviews as well as boom applications. They are used in a wide range of applications for microphones shaped like vocal microphones and ORTF microphone pairs up to 80mm in diameter.

The windshield is constructed from the same material as the full-size modular windshield, but rather than clipping the microphone to a suspension, the ball gag attaches directly to the microphone, with a base clamping the microphone body. The microphone is pressed into the base, completely enclosing the microphone capsule.

The ball gag consists of two hemispheres, which can be separated to accommodate a ball head or tapered microphone body from inside the windshield. For additional wind protection, furry Windjammer covers are also available.
Proper use of the Baby Ball Gag depends primarily on the diameter of the microphone body.

The size of the Baby Ball Gag is related to the diameter of the microphone body, i.e. a 21mm Baby Ball Gag will fit a microphone with a 21mm diameter shank.
