About Baby Ball Gag
Compact Baby Ball Gag slips onto the microphone body and provides effective wind protection. Supports handheld use or Lyre suspension mounting.
Baby Ball Gag suits short microphones for handheld interviews and boom use, accommodating suitable vocal-style heads up to 80 mm in diameter and some ORTF configurations.
Made from the same materials as Modular windshields, Ball Gag mounts directly to the microphone through a gripping collar, enclosing the capsule without clipping it into a suspension.
Ball Gag splits into two hemispheres to accommodate ball-shaped heads or tapered microphone bodies. An optional fur Windjammer adds wind protection.
For microphones with a 25 mm body diameter
Microphone and suspension grip sold separately.
choosing the correct size
Correct Baby Ball Gag selection primarily depends on microphone body diameter.
Baby Ball Gag size refers to microphone body diameter; the 25 mm model fits a microphone with a 25 mm shaft.
The microphone fits through the neoprene grommet and must be centered inside the Ball Gag for effective wind protection. Maximum microphone head diameter: 80 mm.
FAQ– frequently asked questions –
Q: Can I use it with a 24 mm-diameter microphone-
A: The 25 mm BBG Windshield opening ranges from 24 to 25 mm to grip a 25 mm microphone. An exactly 24.0 mm body may not be securely held. For such microphones, use a suitably compatible basket windshield rather than assuming this model will fit.
