TR-8S was born by inheriting the genes of successive Roland rhythm machines. You can freely combine standard drum sounds with club music to make your own original drum kits, or customize them by adding selected sample sounds. Including a velocity-compatible instrument pad, a tuning knob that is independent for each instrument, and effects that add breath to the pattern, all the functions required for track making are integrated into a single unit. Not only in the studio but also in live performance.

The TR-8S's powerful sound engine has further refined the ACB's TR sound. The TR-8S is equipped with a huge amount of sound that far surpasses the succession of TR rhythm machines. By adding preset samples and custom samples there, you can create your own hybrid kits and layered kits that combine unique ACBs and samples, or combine unique effects, giving you the freedom to make sounds. It has improved dramatically.

・Fusion of ACB and sample sound
An effective sound that is indispensable as a color on a rhythm track. In modern rhythm tracks, not only the TR-808's cowbell and hand clap, but also various sounds are incorporated. The TR-8S is equipped with a huge number of preset samples. Possible to quickly create a unique rhythm track combined with a realistic TR sound by ACB. You can also import the original sample sounds from the SD card. Just like the TR sound, you can control the tuning and decay of the sample sound in real time. Reverse playback of samples and speed adjustment are also possible. You can create a rhythm track with your own sound, regardless of existing concepts.

・Drumatic Effects
Effects affect the presence of rhythm tracks. The TR-8S is equipped with various effects that are ideal for percussive sounds, such as rim shot delay, tom and cymbal filters, and snare reverb. Each instrument is equipped with an assignable controller, and it is possible to control the effect parameters in real time for each instrument. Drum instrument parameters such as kick attack and snare snap can also be assigned to the assignable controller of each instrument. Controller assignment status and parameter values ​​can be saved together as a kit, dramatically improving live performance and track production efficiency.

・Evolving pattern making
TR-REC is highly regarded for its intuitive and speedy rhythm programming. The TR-REC has evolved TR-REC to further improve the freedom of rhythm programming.

・Fast, flowing, and fun
The combination of 16 TR-REC pads and the newly installed velocity-compatible instrument pad allows you to freely perform live performances and rhythm programming. You can seamlessly move back and forth between playing and recording, creating patterns without breaking your ideas. The TR-8S can be equipped with sub-steps to achieve a wide variety of fills, flams, and rolls. You can also adjust the number of steps in the sequence for each instrument, so you can create complex polyrhythms.

・Theme variations
The TR-8S can record up to 128 patterns. Eight variations and two fill-ins can be recorded for each pattern, so you can use it for a variety of live performances and try out variations of the rhythm track. Since each pattern also records the tempo, kit, and effect status, you can instantly switch between multiple patterns that you have created.

・8 analog outputs
In addition to the stereo MIX output, the TR-8S is equipped with 6 assignable outputs. Add different outboard effects to each instrument, mix them individually in your DAW, and dramatically improve your freedom of production. TR-8S is equipped with a 24bit/96kHz DA converter. It has a wide dynamic range and produces clear sound with punch.

・Trigger out and external input
TR-8S is equipped with an independent trigger out terminal. In addition, the TR-8S's rim shot is also equipped with a dedicated track, so you can organically link with various external devices such as synchronization of the TR-8S's rim shot with an external sequencer, and synthesizer triggers. Also equipped with an external input (EXT IN) terminal, you can add the TR-8S's unique and powerful effect by mixing the sound of an external device with the sound of the TR-8S.

・Audio & MIDI interface
The TR-8S is not only a powerful rhythm machine, but also a complete multi-channel audio & MIDI interface. By connecting the TR-8S to your computer, you can transfer MIDI and multi-channel audio with a single USB cable. You can also output each drum instrument on a separate channel and record it on an individual track with your DAW. You can also control it from your DAW via MIDI, or synchronize the DAW or MX-1 Mix Performer with the TR-8S's built-in sequencer.
