This is a high-quality mic preamplifier ideal for extending the input of an audio interface equipped with an ADAT terminal. Each channel is equipped with an analog compressor, enables delicate dynamics control.

■ Microphone preamplifier

Based on the Scarlett OctoPre function, the Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is equipped with eight Scarlett 2nd generation mic preamps, expands the number of inputs of the equipment, adds analog compression to each input channel, and more delicate dynamics control make it possible.
The More button on the front panel allows you to double the Ratio for more aggressive compression.

◎ A-D / D-A conversion
Focusrite's A-D, which has a long day in the field of A-D, accurately outputs the input performance and sends it to equipment such as interfaces, and also outputs the ADAT signal as a balanced output for 8-channel D-A. These two ADAT inputs and outputs are flexible enough to support the expansion of the studio system.

◎ Two high headroom Hi-Z instrument inputs
The two instrument inputs with high headroom also handle high output guitar pickups properly. And since compression can be applied at the same time, you can control the dynamics of electric bass and guitar.

◎ The ideal multi-track recording tool
Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is also suitable for expanding high quality multi-channel recording systems.
High headroom mic, line, and instrument inputs. And with analog compression on each channel, all inputs such as drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals are tracked properly.

◎ Expanded studio output
The eight analog outputs of the Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic can be input directly from a mic preamplifier or have eight analog output channels from a DAW via the ADAT input, also supporting multi-channel outboard mixing.

・ What is ADAT?
ADAT is a simple and easy way to extend the analog input. ADAT transmits up to eight channels of audio using inexpensive optical cables. Just connect the "ADAT output" of OctoPre to the "ADAT input" of the audio interface and set the sample rate and clock source to expand the input / output of the audio interface. ADAT input is available on many Focusrite and third-party interfaces.
