■ Audio interface

Released in 2015, Babyface Pro quickly became a standard as a new choice for users such as producers, engineers and artists due to its excellent sound quality and usability. And a year after its launch, RME takes Babyface Pro to the next level. MADIface Pro replaces Babyface Pro's ADAT port with a MADI optical port, leaving the precision built-in housing and the analog circuit that realizes infinitely pure and transparent sound quality. As a result, the digital input/output has been greatly enhanced from 8ch to 64ch. This is the birth of the easiest and most versatile MADI audio interface equipped with MADI that can send and receive audio signals of 64 channels with a single optical fiber. MADIface Pro is not only for studio use, but also for live recording, broadcast relay, acoustic measurement, and other mission-critical and portability-optimized solutions.

■ Main features

It has 2 XLR input/output ports as analog, and the XLR input also has a microphone preamplifier function. 2 TS input ports accept not only line inputs but also instrument inputs. In addition, the TRS stereo output is equipped with 2 types, standard and mini, which are optimized for high impedance and low impedance headphones/earphones, respectively. Of course, TotalMix FX that characterizes RME is also installed. You can mix and route as you want. You can use the MIDI port with the breakout cable to connect any MIDI device. Furthermore, by using the function of MIDI over MADI, also possible to transmit MIDI signals up to 2 km away by MADI cable. When MADI is not used, it works with USB bus power, so it is ideal for production in a mobile environment.

From the optical MADI I/O, 64ch input/output (44.1/48kHz) is possible, and the sample rate up to 192kHz is supported. In addition to analog input/output, 68ch input/output is possible, and all channels are transmitted to PC via USB2. The MADIface Pro, which can output headphones or line, is the most convenient, versatile and portable interface that supports monitoring and talkback during live recording.

◎Stand-alone mode
MADIface Pro works in stand-alone mode when not connected to a PC. With the familiar 4 level meters, 4 setting buttons and encoder on Babyface Pro, you can operate intuitively even without a PC screen. A convenient MADI monitor function is implemented in stand-alone mode. The MADI 1-64ch input is directly routed to the MADI output. From the analog output, you can route and listen to any MADI channel in stereo pairs such as 1/2 or 3/4.
