High audio performance in audio equipment requires high power consumption and a large amount of space to accommodate many components, which contradicts the ""size"" that is a key feature of handheld recorders. The DR-100MKIII specializes in stereo recording to achieve high audio performance and sound quality. By choosing to use all of the limited space and power for the stereo recording circuitry, we have achieved the highest performance in the history of TASCAM stereo linear PCM recorders.

●The A/D converter is equipped with the AKM AK4558, which features VELVET SOUND architecture, achieving high sound quality and low power consumption, achieving a S/N ratio of 102dB.
●Dual ADC functionality using two AK4558s achieves a S/N ratio of 109dB during recording.
●XLR/TRS inputs feature a discrete, low-noise HDDA microphone preamp.
●Dual (unidirectional/omnidirectional) stereo microphone unit provides higher sound quality than previous models.
