The 81 is one of EMG's most popular pickups. Its ceramic magnet and powerful coil design provide a fat sound with a fast attack. Its ability to produce lead tones that cut through dense mixes makes it a popular bridge pickup. It's a classic pairing with the 85, but we also recommend pairing it with the 60.
