■The original model first appeared in the 1960s. Its origins are so uncertain that even those involved at the time are unsure how it came to be released to the public. What's certain is that a legendary guitarist used it in a historic performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Since then, it has attracted the attention of guitarists worldwide and has reigned supreme as a legendary effects pedal for over half a century. This legendary, mysterious pedal, one of the most mysterious effects pedals in history, has been successfully reissued under the unparalleled conditions of being supervised by the original developer. Like the original model, it features a vibrato/chorus switch and distinctive INTENSITY and SPEED knobs. The buffer circuit, which determines the pedal's sound character, has been redesigned by the original developer to meet 21st-century specifications.
■ The CdS light-dependent resistor, the heart of the original model, changes resistance with the intensity of light. It produces a unique effect by varying the output signal in response to the intensity of a miniature light bulb. Unfortunately, this component is restricted as a hazardous substance and cannot be used. Substituting this component was the greatest challenge, and it was an absolute realm beyond the reach of the original. The Nuvibe is a model that delves into that realm, featuring an original circuit with a discrete configuration employing a whopping 79 transistors under the supervision of original engineers.
■ Equipped with 10 WAVE sliders that allow users to generate their own LFO waveforms. This allows for a wide range of effects, from sounds faithful to the original model to custom sounds created by the user.
■ A dedicated expression pedal is included for controlling the modulation effect. The unique modulation can be controlled with your foot, making it perfect for stage performances. It also features an unlatch switch that cancels the modulation effect by pressing the heel end of the pedal. Like the original model, it also features a unique feature that allows it to function as a buffer amp.
■ Two-way power supply allows for operation with batteries or an AC adapter. It also features true bypass, a must-have for guitarists who are particular about sound.
