RedNet 3 is an interface for handling digital I / O in the RedNet system. With up to 32 digital inputs and outputs, RedNet 3 supports full remote control and can handle AES / EBU, S / PDIF, and adat digital input / output. Eight adat inputs and eight adat outputs are provided so that 96kHz signals can be handled in the adat standard.
■ Audio interface
RedNet 3 is a converter that can transfer 32 channels of digital audio with near zero latency. There are three ways to connect RedNet 3 to your computer:
・ Use with CoreAudio and ASIO compatible applications such as DigitalPerformer, Logic, Nuendo using RedNet PCIe card
Connect to Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools HDX and Pro Tools HD native using RedNet 5 DigiLink connector
・ Use with Core Audio and ASIO compatible applications using a computer equipped Ethernet terminal and a general-purpose cable (and “Dante Virtual Soundcard”)
■ What is RedNet?
RedNet is Focusrite's brand new professional audio interface. Focusrite's hardware, which adopts the new generation transmission standard "Dante" for multi-channel audio, has free system design and high reliability, has the quality required for live PA, equipment sound and recording systems.
RedNet can handle up to 256 inputs and outputs of digital audio using common IP-based Ethernet devices. It can be used in combination with many partner companies' products that support the Dante protocol as well as stand-alone system design. This not only supports system construction in live PAs, broadcast stations, and recording studios, but also supports equipment sounds such as conference systems and building broadcast systems.
RedNet can be configured with a low-latency PCIe card or virtual sound card *, and can also be connected to ProTools HD / HDX / HD Native systems and MADI systems.
* Latency depends on your system environment and sampling rate settings.
