This French Soldano-style overdrive produces a lustrous, elegant sound when used as a clean boost. Turning up the gain produces a powerful, distorted sound. It also comes with a built-in cabinet simulator, allowing it to be used as an amp simulator.

Deep Crunch is an overdrive/preamp strongly inspired by the crunch (Clean/Crunch) channel of the legendary Soldano SLO-100, which debuted in the late 1980s and ushered in a new era of high-gain tube amps. The SLO-100's delicate yet dynamic amplification of the input guitar signal has earned it widespread acclaim, from virtuoso guitarists like S. Vai, J. Satriani, and G. Lynch to bluesy, emotional guitarists like G. Moore and E. Clapton. The deep crunch pedal faithfully recreates the expressive sound of the SLO-100 using HEPTODE's proprietary vacuum tube emulation technology. ■HEPTODE is an effects pedal brand born in France, the land of art. Jean-Luc Chtioui represents the brand and designs/manufactures all of its products. Jean had been developing various pedal ideas since around 2006, and in 2010 he founded HEPTODE.
