■JENSEN
JENSEN is a company that sells replacement speaker units for guitar and bass amplifiers. They rose to fame in the 1940s when Fender founder Leo Fender chose JENSEN speakers. While production was temporarily discontinued in the late 1960s, it resumed in the 1990s at the Italian speaker manufacturer SICA Altoparlanti. JENSEN is a pioneering speaker unit manufacturer that has paved the way for a new era.

高音がおさえられました

VHT Special 6 Closed-Back Cabinetのスピーカーと交換しました。
CELESTION G12M Greenbackより高音がおさえられて良かったです。

分厚い音に

このスピーカーは良いですね。
80年台初頭のチューブアンプに搭載しました。
スピーカーがヘタってしまっていたので代替品を探していましたが、中々ドンピシャに巡り合えずにいました。
元々若干トレブリーだったので少し抑え気味にしたく、ミドルが厚めのこちらを選んだのですが、これが大正解でした。
ヘッドルームに余裕のある真空管アンプなのでよりクリーンなサウンドを模索してました。
コンボアンプのスピーカー載せ替えで、トランスが干渉してしまい加工が少し面倒でしたが、それでも大満足です。
このアンプとは二十数年来の付き合いですが、またしばらく一緒にいる事になりそうです。
