■ Equipped with automatic noise reduction. The MP9-15's electrical circuitry automatically adjusts the output level in response to changes in audio input level. When ambient sound is within a safe level range, the sound quality is natural, as if you were not wearing earplugs. As the input level increases, noise reduction gradually adds 9-15dB of attenuation to maintain a safe volume. When the input level returns to normal, the sound quality returns to its natural state.

大きな音だけを減衰して、日常的な会話や、周囲の音は普段どおりの音量・音質で聞こえる不思議な耳栓「MP9-15」。
ちょっとイメージしにくいかもしれませんが、これが使ってみると、思わず「なんだこれ？！」とびっくりする、すごい耳栓なんです。

「MP9-15」は電池で駆動します。使用する電池は、補聴器に使われる「空気電池 PR536」で小指の先ほどの大きさ。とにかく小さいです。
空気電池についているシールを剥がすと電池が消耗してしまうので、使用直前に剥がすようにしましょう。

装着方法はちょっとしたコツがあります。まず、しっかりと耳の奥の方に差し込むことが重要。装着が甘いとMP9-15がハウリングを起こして、ピーピー鳴ってしまうので要注意です。
しっかりと装着した後は、MP9-15をくるっと回転させると、ボディを耳の淵に固定できて、装着感が高まります。

早速使用してみると、きちんと装着しているはずなのに、周りの音が普通に聞こえます。なんでかな、装着が甘いのかなと思って、取り外してからもう一度装着してみますが、やはり普通に聞こえます。
こんな勘違いをしてしまうくらい「MP9-15」は音の聞こえ方が自然なんです。

次に、「大きな音を低減する」機能を試してみようと、近くでシンバルを思いきり叩いてみました。やはり普通に聞こえます。
MP9-15を外した状態とつけた状態で比較すると違いは歴然。耳に刺さる高音域を程よくカットして、シンバルの音がナチュラルに聞こえます。これは地味だけど画期的な機能ですね。
