The Avantone MixCube is a magnetically shielded, full-range mini reference monitor. It was developed as a modern version of the Auratone 5C Sound Cube, a studio standard with over 25 years of history.

Many studios use large, two-way or three-way monitor speakers, allowing for a wide range of sound at high volume. Even in today's high-resolution audio, not everyone has access to a high-end playback environment. Therefore, mixes must be checked for playback on TVs, boomboxes, PCs, car stereos, iPod docking stations, and other devices. Using appropriate reference monitors is crucial, as speakers with crossovers or low-fidelity full-range drivers degrade sound quality, making them unsuitable for proper reference. Mid-range tracks, such as vocals, guitars, and keyboards, require particular attention, making full-range monitors without crossovers truly effective. The AVANTONE MixCube's sound quality was determined over a 10-month research and development period, involving various comparative listening tests. The result is an exceptionally smooth sound, an improvement over the original Auratone 5C Sound Cube. Listening tests confirmed that the high frequencies are smoother, more open, and more transparent, while maintaining the original sound quality.
