This overdrive uses germanium transistors and aims to recreate the sound of a Germanium preamp. It's versatile, offering everything from a light crunch to a fuzz-like sound, all the way to a full-range boost. Its wide range of tones is appealing, and five unique sounds can be output by adjusting the feedback setting.

This high-end booster pedal features a Class A design from Chandler Limited, the company behind recording equipment named after EMI/Abbey Road Studios in the UK. The Germanium Drive is based on the Germanium Pre Amp, a classic recording studio head amplifier. It features a germanium transistor drive circuit and an ingenious feedback control design. Five feedback settings allow for five distinctly different sound outputs. Complex elements such as tonal texture, sound color, harmonic distortion, and clipping are intertwined and brought together with Chandler Limited's musical sensibility. The Germanium Drive utilizes 9V x 2 = 18V, delivering an astonishingly wide range and breadth of sound. From light to tight drive, fuzz-like clipping, and full boost, only the best tones are packaged to drive your music. The Class A design and Germanium transistors produce a wonderfully musical tone that has never been achieved before.
FEEDBACK 1 - This is a fuzz-type setting with minimal feedback. Despite significant clipping, it produces a distortion sound with an extremely smooth and silky character. This is the setting with the thickest low end. THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is 52% at full, and maximum gain is approximately 35dB.
FEEDBACK 2 - This is a sound similar to position 1, but with less fuzziness. The amount of feedback is lower. There's also a significant amount of low end added, but not as much as in position 1. The THD (Distortion) is 36% at full, and the maximum gain is approximately 37dB.
FEEDBACK 3 - This setting provides maximum high-frequency clipping and less low-frequency clipping. The THD (Distortion) is 23% at full, and the maximum gain is approximately 37dB. It has less low-frequency content than positions 1 and 2, but is harder and more aggressive.
FEEDBACK 4 - This position shares the character of positions 3 and 5. It has a more aggressive sound than position 3, but is tighter and more colored. It has less low-frequency clipping than positions 1 and 2. The THD (Distortion) is 7% at full, and the maximum gain is approximately 36.5dB.
FEEDBACK 5 - This setting provides a well-balanced feedback character. The lower gain adds harmonic texture to the sound. This is a very useful position for enhancing the tonal character of your sound. The THD (Typical Distortion) is 7% at full power, and the maximum gain is approximately 33dB.
