■ Pickups: The bridge pickup continues to use the DiMarzio Billy Sheen signature ""Will Power"" pickup, as in the previous model. Meanwhile, the woofer pickup, the Billy Sheen model's most distinctive feature, is an original pickup developed in collaboration with Billy specifically for this model. This new pickup, developed through repeated improvements to the Yamaha original woofer pickup featured in the BB714BS, was developed based on Billy's advice, with its fundamental structure being redesigned. The humbucker-type construction employs blade-type pole pieces, and careful attention has been paid to the coil wire diameter and coating, resulting in a more powerful, ultra-low bass than ever before. At the same time, joint development with Billy, in tandem with the new neck joint described below, has resulted in a thinner pickup.
■Body: As before, the body is made of alder, characterized by a well-balanced, warm midrange, and employs the spline joint method used in the new BB#2000 and #1000. The splines connecting the center and both sides of the string passage ensure a three-piece structure that is resistant to environmental changes, while maintaining the excellent vibration characteristics of a one-piece structure, accurately transmitting string vibration energy throughout the body. Furthermore, the use of ""A.R.E."" wood treatment technology, combined with the spline joint structure and the effects of the I.R.A. treatment described below, has resulted in a body with the best resonance Billy has recognized. ■ Neck: The previous model was secured to the body with four wood screws of different lengths on the back and two inside the body. Billy is a player who frequently uses ""neck bends,"" a technique that bends the neck itself to control pitch, so further improving the joint strength was a key theme in the development of this new model. The new neck joint, which adds a 45-degree angled screw, creates a force that pulls the neck to the body not only vertically but also horizontally. This not only improves the desired joint strength, but also improves the efficiency of vibration transmission between the neck and body, resulting in a tighter sound.
