M Series converters are optimized for professional studio and broadcast applications. The M-32 DA and M-16 DA can be combined to create 16, 32, 48, or 64 channels, tailored to your budget and system needs. It offers a maximum hardware reference level of +24 dBu, MADI/ADAT inputs up to 192 kHz, remote control via MIDI/MADI, and analog outputs on 6.3 mm TRS and D-sub 25-pin, all housed in a 2U rack.

Latest Converter Technology
The M-32 DA incorporates the balanced analog outputs found in the ADI-8 QS, delivering high sound quality, low distortion, and a high S/N ratio at all level settings. Three level settings are available. The latest converter technology has resulted in a high-spec unit that supports up to 192 kHz and boasts a 118 dBA S/N ratio on all channels.
The unit features a driver stage for each TRS and D-sub connector, with the servo-balanced TRS output operating at a maximum of +21 dBu. When set to +24 dBu, the TRS output is at +19 dBu, and the D-sub output is at an even higher level.

SteadyClock Jitter Suppression Function
Digital signals suffer from jitter due to temporal fluctuations in the sampling clock. Suppressing this jitter is now a major priority in digital audio equipment.
SteadyClock provides incredible jitter suppression for all clocks. Not only does SteadyClock refresh any clock to maintain outstanding playback quality, it can also be sent from all digital outputs as an ideal reference clock.

SteadyClock Details
Intelligent Clock Control (ICC)
RME Intelligent Clock Control is the world's only digital I/O system capable of measuring and displaying the frequency of all clock sources (including word clock!). It determines which clock source to use based on signal availability and the current sample rate (fully automated and in hardware!).
This allows for easy clock handling despite the numerous digital inputs and advanced clock settings.

SyncCheck
When working with multiple digital sources, they must be properly locked and perfectly synchronized; otherwise, dropouts and crackle will occur.
RME's unique SyncCheck checks all input signals and provides a visual indication. When the clock mode is Master, synchronization with the internal clock is confirmed. This advanced technology allows for instant error detection.
Remote Control
All settings of the M Series can be remotely controlled via MIDI, and the device status can be viewed from a PC. Each unit can be assigned its own ID, allowing multiple units to be remotely controlled individually via a single MIDI channel. Full remote control is also possible via MADI.

MADI Input/Output
Supports MADI signal input/output, transmitting up to 64 channels over a single cable. The MADI input signal can also be used as an additional clock source (OPTN, Clock Section) or as a through input. When multiple units are connected, all 64 combined channels are output from the MADI terminal of the last unit.
The M Series features a redundancy function that automatically detects valid input signals from the optical and coaxial terminals and switches between them. By constantly inputting the same signal to both terminals, if one input signal is lost, the system immediately detects it and automatically switches to the other input.

ADAT
The M-32 (16) DA is equipped with an ADAT input terminal, allowing for simple connection to studio equipment. When combined with the HDSPe RayDAT, it provides 32 channels of analog output from a PC or Mac.
Standard TOSLINK cables are used for connection.

Latency-Free Stacking
M-16 DA and M-32 DA units can be freely combined, allowing for custom configurations of 16, 32, 48, or 64 channels (or multiples thereof). The converters automatically activate delay compensation, ensuring sample-accurate synchronization of playback between all units.

Hardware Updates via Flash Update
RME's Flash Update technology allows existing firmware to be updated, expanding, adjusting, and modifying functionality, ensuring compatibility with the latest operating systems and other software.
