High-quality design for professional audio playback
By separating the power supply, digital section, and audio section into separate blocks, mutual interference is minimized. Furthermore, meticulous design, including symmetrical audio circuits and the shortest audio signal paths, ensures accurate sound field reproduction without compromising the purity of the audio signal. The unit also features parts carefully selected through extensive listening tests, including the renowned Burr-Brown high-precision DAC with 192kHz/24-bit audio compatibility. Furthermore, the unit features a Pure Direct mode that shuts down the digital output circuit and turns off the display, achieving higher-quality analog audio output. These high-quality design features enable a natural, high-purity sound as a dedicated CD player.

Front USB port also supports digital iPod connection. The front USB port allows you to connect your USB flash drive or USB portable music player (USB mass storage) to play digital music files. It also supports digital iPod connection.*1 By connecting the USB cable included with your iPod to the front USB port, you can input music from your iPod digitally and enjoy high-quality audio using the unit's built-in D/A converter. While playing an iPod, power is automatically supplied (charged) to the iPod, and basic iPod operations can be performed using the unit's remote control.*2 Furthermore, iPod/USB audio data input via the USB port is output as PCM from the unit's optical/coaxial digital terminal, allowing it to be transferred as a digital signal to an amplifier or audio system with a digital input.*3
