MAXON / SM9Pro+

This distortion pedal supports a wide range of sounds, from NWOBHM-style sounds to down-tuning. The voltage switch allows you to change the internal operating voltage between 9V and 18V, allowing for a wide range of sound creation.

■Based on the distortion core of the MAXON SM9, which was released shortly after the NWOBHM boom that sparked the music movement in the late 1970s, it has been reborn as the SM9Pro+ (Super Metal) after a quarter century.
■The SM9Pro+ is a high-gain distortion pedal with a cut in the mid-range, allowing for a wide range of settings, from the NWOBHM sound that is an essential part of heavy metal history to the down-tuned heavy rock and loud rock sounds of recent years.
■The SM9Pro+ has four simple control knobs, making it easy to achieve your desired tone.
■The internal operating voltage can be selected between 9V and regulated 18V. The new circuitry uses an internal DC/DC converter to boost the voltage to 18V only when the 18V option is selected. When the 9V option is selected, the internal DC/DC converter is disabled and the pedal operates directly from the battery or AC adapter. When using batteries, the internal DC/DC converter does not operate, thereby improving battery life.
■By setting the internal operating voltage to 18V, sufficient dynamic headroom is ensured, unintentional distortion is significantly reduced, and stable, high-quality sound is always achieved.
■TBS (True Bypass Switching) with a 4PDT mechanical switch is used. When bypassed, the signal is completely bypassed, with no electronic circuitry passing through. Even when effects are applied, the signal does not pass through electronic switching circuits, so there is no degradation in sound quality. This TBS is extremely popular with many musicians and guitarists.
