This is a highly sensitive, high-quality electret condenser microphone that can be switched between stereo and monaural modes (acute directivity).
[Features]
- Switchable between stereo and mono recording modes
You can switch between stereo and mono recording modes by using the selector switch on the unit or by turning the power supply to the R channel from a camcorder or mixer on/off*. In stereo, the MS format ensures natural tone and positioning. In mono, the sharp directivity allows for narrow-angle recording.
*Power supply to the L channel can be turned on.
- High-sensitivity, low-noise, high-quality sound design
The newly developed microphone capsule achieves high sensitivity of -28dB (0dB=1V/Pa) in stereo and -32dB (0dB=1V/Pa) in mono, as well as low inherent noise of less than 20dB SPL.
- Natural sound across a wide bandwidth
The flat frequency response (50Hz-20kHz in stereo, 40Hz-20kHz in mono) and natural sound quality are ideal for digital recording.
- Equipped with a low-cut switch to cut out unwanted noise and low frequencies.
Effectively cuts out noise caused by wind and vibration.
M: Standard response, V: Low-cut response
- Compact and lightweight
Easy to operate when attached to a professional camcorder, the lightweight (approx. 105g) and compact (approx. 20mm diameter, approx. 250mm total length) size minimize vignetting even at the wide-angle end of the lens.
- Externally powered microphone
Compatible with external power supplies requiring a DC40-52V operating voltage.
- Can also be connected to HDV camcorders, etc.
Using the microphone conversion cable EC-0.5X5F3M (sold separately), it can be connected to camcorders equipped with two XLR-type 3-pin (female) microphone inputs.
