Variations

This 2-channel analog DJ mixer combines a robust body with simplicity and ease of use. The crossfader curve allows for stepless adjustment of the slow/sharpness using a knob control. Both channels 1 and 2 are equipped with an EQ isolator selector switch. Along with various inputs and outputs, the rear panel is equipped with Send & Return terminals, allowing connection to external FX and other devices. This 2-channel DJ mixer is suitable for playing a wide range of genres, from house and techno to hip hop and scratching.

Eclerといえばアイソレーター搭載の「WARMシリーズ」ロータリーDJミキサーをイメージされる方が多いように感じます。そんな「WARMシリーズ」の影に隠れながらも、15年以上の超ロングセラーとなっている名機こそが本モデル「NUOシリーズ」の2ch DJミキサー「NUO 2.0」。その特徴を一言で表現するならば、研ぎ澄まされたシンプル is ベスト。

音質面は言わずもがな、Eclerの得意とするアナログDJミキサー特有ともいうべき太く温かいアナログサウンド特徴的です。中低域がふっくらとしており、ベースやキックの音が非常に力強い印象。
スペック面で見ても最大出力+22dBV(約24dBu相当)というヘッドルームの広さは、この価格帯では特異です。音量を引っ張っても歪みにくく、パワー感のロスもなく鳴らしてくれるように感じました。あえて他社製品を比較に出すならばAllen & Heathの「Xoneシリーズ」から、ホームユース/小箱に人気の「Xone:23」。こちらは最大出力約+25.7dBV(28dBu相当)、サウンド的にはクリアでタイト、解像度が高い印象です。XONEフィルターも相まってとくにジワりとつなぎたいTechnoやMinimal系のDJさんには最適です。一方のEcler「NUO 2.0」はマッシブなサウンドゆえにHip Hopやdub、あるいは歌物Houseなども気持ちよく乗せてくれる印象です。実際に聞き比べてみると、プレイしたいジャンルに応じて好みが分かれるように感じます。また、数字以上に「NUO 2.0」はパワフル。それでいてLOWをスパッと切ってもトラックの温度感はそのままという不思議な感覚です。

機能面を見てみると、フィルターすら積んでいない武骨なまでのシンプルさ。『それならXone:23の方が良いいんじゃ？』と感じられた方。ごもっともです。ただそのうえで、もし外部エフェクターを噛ませるなら「NUO 2.0」は化けます。「NUO 2.0」にはチャンネル毎にFX SENDノブを搭載しており、チャンネル毎に細かくエフェクトの掛け具合を調節できてしまいます。マスター出力に対してエフェクトを掛けるイメージの「Xone:23」とは一味違ったミックスも実現する、それがFX SENDノブ搭載の「NUO 2.0」。さらにはフェーダーカーブ(SHAPE)もフロント側面のノブで縦/横フェーダーそれぞれ無段階での微調節が可能です。スクラッチにより特化させたい場合はクロスフェーダーを別売の「ECLER ETERNAL Crossfader」に載せ替えるという手もあります。こうなると最早オールジャンルどんとこいというベストバイDJミキサーになってきます。

冒頭にて「NUO2.0」のことをシンプル is ベストと表現しましたが、その特徴をひとつひとつ見ていくと如何に洗練されているかを伺い知れます。[機能の豊富さ]よりも[基本性能の良さ]に振り切った本モデル「NUO 2.0」は、デジタル化の波にも溺れない、超ロングセラーのアナログDJミキサーはダテじゃないと感じさせてくれる1台です。
