This program limiter was developed with the master channel in mind. It maintains a transparent sound quality while allowing for level control. It also features an enhance function, which increases the perceived sound pressure regardless of the volume.

■Plug-in
An ""ultra-transparent limiter"" that supports true-peak standards and delivers high-quality limiting
Oxford Limiter is a high-quality program limiter developed with master channel use in mind. Control levels while maintaining transparent sound quality. Optimize the sound pressure of your mix as a loudness maximizer. Aim for bold settings for artistic effect. Whatever the effect you're looking for, Oxford Limiter offers flexibility and professional-grade results. Experience this ""ultra-transparent limiter,"" which earned a high rating of 4.6 out of 5 in the previously released UAD version.
Increase perceived sound pressure beyond level limits
Oxford Limiter operates as a maximizer, optimizing the output sound simply by setting the output level and increasing the input. However, its unique ""Enhance"" function also allows you to exceed level limits and increase perceived sound pressure.
The Oxford Limiter plug-in has ample headroom, so even when using a longer attack setting to pass attack peaks, digital clipping does not occur. By passing the signal with the remaining attack through the ""Enhance"" section, you can increase the sound pressure while maintaining the sense of dynamics, resulting in a more musical sound with richer dynamics than other limiter-type maximizers. In addition to displaying the results detected in the usual sample units, the Oxford Limiter meter also has a function to display inter-sample peaks.
Avoid distortion when played on consumer devices.
Today's consumer playback devices (such as CD players) compensate for inter-sample curves during DA conversion to ensure a natural inter-sample curve. Even if the sample-level ""points"" are within the acceptable range, the ""peaks"" of the reproduced curve connecting the ""points"" (inter-samples) may exceed the acceptable range, resulting in distortion.
Oxford Limiter displays potential inter-sample peaks within a DAW environment. Furthermore, its ""auto-compensation"" function prevents overload caused by these inter-sample peaks, allowing the limiter to operate in a way that avoids distortion when played on consumer playback devices.
In addition, the Oxford Limiter also features sophisticated dithering, a feature essential for CD master creation. Not only can you choose from five types, but you can also specify the amount of dithering by percentage, allowing you to select the optimal noise shaping and dithering process for your material.
Features
- Advanced logarithmic sidechain processing and timing management using look-ahead technology enable transparent processing of even complex mix material.
- Includes an ""Enhance"" function that exceeds level limits to increase perceived sound pressure.
- Adjustable attack and release.
- Ample internal headroom design prevents clipping even when peak overshoot occurs with a longer attack.
- Adjustable from hard knee to soft knee.
- Includes an auto-gain function that tracks level changes for optimal processing.
- Includes a reconstruction meter that displays intersample peaks that occur during DA correction on consumer playback devices (such as CD players).
- Includes an ""Auto-Compensation"" function that avoids intersample peak distortion when playing back on consumer devices.
- Includes a 24/16-bit dither with selectable types: TPDF and four types of noise shaping. The strength of the effect can also be adjusted between 0-100%.
