BEATLES Era 2ch EQ + More functions!
The gorgeous, stunning vintage sound of EMI/Abbey Road Studios returns to the world of modern recording!
The EMI TG12345 Curve Bender has been reissued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Abbey Road Studios. Designer Wade Gauke of CHANDLER LIMITED and Peter Cobbin of Abbey Road Studios have developed a premium analog EQ based on the TG12345 console, which recorded historic albums by The Beatles and Pink Floyd, with added new features.
EMI's analog EQ development began with the RS57 in 1954, and continued with the TG12345 in 1969 and the TG12412 in 1974, which EMI designers affectionately named the Curve Bender. This latest version retains the ultra-organic sound of the original while adding performance and features necessary for modern recording environments.
Peter Cobbin of Abbey Road Studios used the EQs on the original TG consoles to mix Beatles albums like Anthology and Yellow Submarine (Remix). He had long sought to add even more flexibility to the original TG console's stunning analog sound. This project began after Wade Gauke officially partnered with Abbey Road.
The slope, position, and tonal quality of the original TG desk's EQ have been perfectly reproduced, and the EQ points, which were limited to two bands and nine positions on the original, have been significantly expanded to 51 EQ points (4-band EQ + filter), with options for boost/cut range and Q-shape selection.
