The PS-8001-00 is a left-handed version of Fender's original String Saver saddle for American Standard-style Strats and Teles. The mounting and octave adjustment screws are offset. The String Saver creates a thin Teflon film as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle, reducing string breakage and improving tuning stability. It also delivers the deep, crisp tone and rich sustain of a vintage saddle.

String Saver dramatically improves string breakage resistance and sustain compared to metal saddles.
String Saver creates a thin Teflon film as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle. This acts as a lubricant, preventing the string from becoming too tight against the saddle and spreading the stress that tends to be concentrated in one spot over a wider area. This reduces string breakage resistance. String Saver saddles produce a deep, crisp tone, reminiscent of vintage steel saddles, resulting in improved sustain.
