Even if you use this model 473 to complete an 8- or 16-channel input section, it would cost only a few vintage modules (with additional maintenance costs). The Model 473 is a masterpiece, carefully crafted and made to order.
The two-band EQ section, encapsulating the essence of NEVE, is powerful enough to add beauty and impact to instruments and vocals. Even with extreme equalization, music resonates beautifully, producing a smooth, silky sound. High frequencies are switchable between 5.6kHz and 12kHz, and low frequencies between 60Hz and 110Hz.

The head amplifier, with 70dB of gain, recreates the sound of the NEVE 1073 (1272). Only Mr. Upton, an expert on vintage NEVE, can tune it to maximize the musical appeal. VIntech-Audio's meticulous attention to detail is evident, including a top-quality step gain controller and custom transformers.

Easy-to-use functions such as input impedance settings, mic/line selector, 48V phantom power, phase inversion, and EQ bypass are efficiently arranged to expand sound-shaping possibilities. The inputs include separate line and mic inputs on the rear, a Hi-Z input for instruments on the front, and XLR and phone outputs, providing a wide range of inputs and outputs. It's also optimized for adding NEVE's analog texture to line sources or instruments and then returning them to a track.
