The Nanoflex pickup not only picks up the vibrations of the strings, but also those from the body. This creates an effect that blends the sound of an under-saddle pickup and a microphone simultaneously. Unlike other pickups, the signal from the Nanoflex pickup is amplified without passing through even a 1mm wire, so it is not affected by external interference on its way to the cable.
The control unit with volume and tone controls is located on the inside (between the second and third strings). It consumes very little power and is low noise.
